Calcutta is the “City of Joy” in India. Now it is called Kolkata. There are many important tourist places in Calcutta. Eden Gardem, Marble Palace, Howrah Bridge, Birla planetarium are some of the places.
Eden Garden:
The cricket stadium Eden Garden is the oldest cricket playground in the Country. In 1917-18, the firstclass cricket match took place here and in January 1934 the first test match was played here. The first One day match was hosted here in February 1987. It can accommodate more than 1 lakh people.
Marble Palace
It is another tourist attraction place in Calcutta. In 1835, the Marble Palace was built by Rajendra Mallick. Here you can see the superb objects of sculptures, pictures and oil paintings and exquistite pieces of art. Here you can find the Rembrandt, Reynolds original paintings.
